Library Registration Requirements
- 2 passport photos
- Registration card / Admission Letter
Using the Library
- Present your Library IDs and registration cards at the entrance
- The lower floor is reserved for silent studying. No talking is allowed downstairs.
- The upper floor is for collaboration, socializing, group work, and Discussion
- Phone conversations are allowed on the upper level of the library. Please be mindful of your volume
- No food, fruits and water shall be brought into the Library except where a person is sick and sought permission from the Reference and circulation Librarian.
- Users should treat Library materials, equipment and facilities with care and report any Defect or damage to the Library staff.
- Listening to music or watching a video? You must use headphones or earbuds.
- The Library shall not be responsible for the safe keeping and any loss/damages of belongings left in the Library premises.
- Lost and Found is located at the Reference & circulation desk.
- Smoking and/or vaping are never allowed in the library under any circumstances.
- Every person using the Library shall have due regard to the right of others to use the Library in accordance with the Policy and shall not interfere with their use of the Library.
- Wearing of overcoats, caps is not allowed and should be kept in the cloak room except those with chronic illnesses and permission must be granted by the University Librarian.
- Sleeping is never allowed in the library
- Theft or mutilation of materials attracts disciplinary action and a penalty of double the cost of the book.
- All personal textbooks should be registered with security at Reference and Circulation
- Library staff reserve the right to prohibit disruptive and/or extreme behaviors not suitable for a library environment on a case-by-case basis
Reserve Textbooks
- Reserve textbooks can be checked out for 2 hours.
- Textbooks can be renewed if no one else has requested the book
- Reserve textbooks must stay inside the library.
- Please handle reserve textbooks with care.
- Library staff cannot scan textbooks.
Printing and photocopying
- Email the document you need to librarysupport@bsu.ac.ug with “print” in the subject line. Please specify if you need multiple copies, double- sided printing.
- Pick your printouts at Reference & circulation as soon as possible.
- The library does not offer colored printing services
